Winery TorreCastillo begins in the 1980s, when Antonio López "TORRESa lifelong winegrower, abandoned the bulk co-operative movement, and with the help of his son Julián Lópezto start making their own wines.

There is a lot of hope for TorreCastillosynonymous with struggle. Fight for the quality of the wine and for a better management of the vineyard, for a careful work.

After restructuring and recovering the old vineyards, in 1970 new plantations were planted in the municipality of Montealegre. A very scattered vineyard, always looking for the best land for the cultivation of the jewel of the area, LA MONASTRELL, with altitudes of up to 900m.

Seeing these vineyards, one realises that the quality of the TORRECASTILLO wines is gestated in the countryside, with vines cared for with devotion, at the mercy of a continental climate, which brings out the best in each of these plants.

This family business currently has 100 hectares of vineyards spread over different parts of the municipality of Montealegre, adapting to the best conditions depending on the variety.

Years ago we began a transformation process that culminated in the inauguration of our new facilities in 2015.

We combine our family experience with the latest technological innovations. We pamper our vineyards, many of which are hundreds of years old, with care and dedication, maintaining the traditional processes throughout the wine cycle.

It is a way of life that we learnt as children and that has been passed down from generation to generation, daily work in the fields. From the vine to the table.

Because the countryside gives us what we give it. We apply cultivation practices that allow us to conserve natural resources and the environment, to favour the flora and fauna and the quality of the soils, possibly the secret ingredient of our wines. This winery is within the DOP Jumilla.
